The Pavilion
The Pavilion, Manorbrook, is located within the Cator Estate South that forms part of the Blackheath Conservation Area. The property is one of a pair of 19th Century coach houses, originally built to serve the neighbouring Radnor House at the foot of its substantial gardens, and subsequently modified and converted into single dwellings.
Goode Architecture developed designs to reconfigure the ground floor plan to remove the single storey extensions and improve the layout to provide a more generous kitchen space - not only in terms of space but more importantly in terms of light.
In addition the brief was to explore ways of gaining access to the loft space within the roof space area over the living room ‘wing’ to provide a guest bedroom or study and shower room. We also explored options to construct a new garage/annex, to replace the existing single storey lightweight structure.
